Reactivity: (Homo sapiens) UniProt:P19320 Abbreviation:VCAM1 Alternative Names:CD106; DKFZp779G2333; INCAM-100; MGC99561; CD106 antigen Application:ELISA Range:0.78-50 ng/mL Sensitivity:0.29 ng/mL Intra-AssayCV:≤4.8% Inter-AssayCV:≤8.3% Recovery:1,09 Sample Type:Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids Detection Method:Sandwich Analysis Method:Quantitive Test principle:This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate VCAM1 in samples. An antibody specific for VCAM1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyVCAM1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjµgated antibody specific for VCAM1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjµgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of VCAM1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Product Overview:VCAM-1 (CD106), a member of the immunoglobµLin superfamily, is a cell surface protein expressed by activated endothelial cells and certain leukocytes (such as macrophages). VCAM-1 expression is induced by IL-1β, IL-4, TNF-α and IFN-γ. VCAM-1 binds to leukocyte integrins VLA-4 and α4β7. The rat and mouse SVCAM-1 proteins share approximately 76% amino acid similarity. VCAM-1 is a member of the Ig superfamily and encodes a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. This type I membrane protein mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction, and may play a role in the development of artherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Stability:The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature. (referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calcµLated by the Arrhenius equation. For ELISA kit, 4 days storage at 37°C can be considered as 6 months at 2 - 8°C, which means 7 days at 37°C equaling 12 months at 2 - 8°C).
